Reviews:

This week's TGIF question: Required reading!! Is there a book from your school days that you remember reading and enjoying? Is there a book published now that you'd like to see in today's curriculum for kids?

Great one! Everyone knows that school reading sucks. Especially with books like Grapes of Wrath, The Scarlet Letter, and Catcher in the Rye (GAG). But I am pleased to say that - yes!!! - there is a book from that long horrific list that I enjoyed. TWO of them, actually - 1984 and Fahrenheit 451. I barely remember them though, I've been wanting to re-read both for a while now.
As for books that I think should be on the curriculum, well, I'm at a complete and total loss. I don't read classics by choice, and I can't foresee any school allowing a YA fiction book on the list. Otherwise, I'd say Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. :)

This week's Follow Friday question: Activity! Take a picture or describe where you love to read most:

My favorite place is in this awesome pink chair, with my legs propped up on the bed. As you can see, I'm fully equipped with a box of Oreos and a notebook/pen to write my thoughts down. :)

Glad to see someone else thought that all the books we had to read in school sucked! Lucky you had 2 you liked! I only found one! And it was hard thinking of a book today that kids should read.

Your chair looks really comfy too! I tried reading in one of those a few years ago, but I guess I got the wrong one! I always fall back on my bed!

Have a GREAT weekend!

I didn't to TGIF, but I actually enjoyed most of my assigned reading books. I'm a lover of classics though.

I LOVE the fact you have oreos nearby!!!

I really enjoyed 1984 and Fahrenheit 451, but I didn't read them until I was an adult. But I'm glad I finally read them! And that's a cool chair!

LOVE the spot. I especially like that you left the Oreos in the picture. I took my pic then noticed a collection of tea cups sitting in the corner. I was like "well it's accurate that's for sure"

Rating System

EPIC - This book is so full of awesome that a 5 star rating just isn't good enough!

I loved it - Definitely a favorite. I would read it again for sure!

I really liked it - Great read but doesn't quite make it on my favorite shelf.

I liked it - Good read, but not really memorable.

It was OK - Didn't care for it much, but still had some redeeming qualities.

Not for me - I could barely get through it. These are the books that usually spawn a long, sarcastic rant session from me.
